Friends of Project Renew

I first visited Vietnam in 2016. Back then, I was just passing through—riding motorbikes, taking photos, soaking in the scenery. I didn’t know much about the country’s deeper scars. But somewhere along the way, I learned about the problem of unexploded ordnance (UXO)—bombs and munitions left behind from the war, still buried in the ground, still killing and injuring people decades later. That stuck with me.

Now, living here, it’s impossible to ignore. The war may have ended in 1975, but its remnants are still here, still dangerous. As an American, I feel a responsibility. Our country dropped those bombs. We sprayed the Agent Orange. We left behind a mess that others are still cleaning up. Supporting Friends of Project RENEW is one way I can help.

Team Gleason Foundation

I first heard about Team Gleason through my co-worker and long-time friend Brian Bender. After his ALS diagnosis, the foundation supplied adaptive gear that let him keep communicating, eating, and moving with less strain on his caregivers. That equipment bought him time he could still call his own. Brian died in November 2023, but before he passed he said, “If you ever give back, give to Team Gleason.” I took that to heart.
